Pastor Pat Gruber's background
Pastor Pat began his call to St. John’s on December 1 of 2023.
Pastor Pat was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, went to a Baptist seminary, worked for a time for a Pentecostal Rehab Center, became ordained as Presbyterian Minister of the Word and Sacrament and now serves a United Church of Christ congregation. He is truly ecumenical!
Pastor Pat was born and raised in Minnesota. He has a Bachelor of Science in English, hoping to write that elusive great American Novel. While in Minnesota, he served for ten years as a Youth Leader and Christian Educator before completing seminary and becoming ordained. He moved to Missouri in 2006. He has served congregations in Mexico, Cuba and Washington before answering the call to Weldon Spring.
Pastor Pat enjoys his coffee, Minnesota Vikings football, movies, theater (attending and performing), reading novels, writing poetry, Bible study, jigsaw puzzles and trying new restaurants.
Pastor Pat has been giddily married to his wife Karen since 2008 and share an adult son named Alex. They have two cats and a dog to fill their house with joy!
